Welcome to my Argentina travel Blog!

I’m Madeleine!

I’ve created this blog for people who are thinking about traveling to or moving to Argentina.

I remember before I came here for the first time, I was a little bit apprehensive! Maybe you are too? Are you wondering…

  • What will be like?
  • Will I be able to understand the Argentine Spanish (Lunfardo)?
  • Will people be able to understand me?
  • Is it safe?
  • How do I stay safe?
  • Where should I visit?
  • What should I not bother seeing?
  • What on earth is the “dollar blue” and the “dollar Coldplay”??!!!?!
  • And most importantly, what’s the food like?

If these sound like things you’ve been wondering, then you’ve come to the right place!

I’ve lived in Argentina for over 7 years and have been visiting for over 10 years. I’ve been lucky enough to do this, as my love, Juan Pablo, is Argentine.

We met in New Zealand, where he lived for over a decade and after a few years of being together in New Zealand, we decided to try out our luck living in his home country.

I haven’t looked back!

We live with our fur-babies just outside of the city and visit “Capital Federal” (the city center of Buenos Aires) often, for concerts, to eat, to visit friends and family.

We also have family living in Mendoza, so that’s become our second home.

I visit several times a year to enjoy the scenery, vineyards and the beautiful city centre and of course, family time!

And let’s not forget the Cacheuta thermal pools, where we’ve been going for over 10 years and try to spend time once a year for some R&R.

I also love to get away for long weekends, and a few weeks here and there when I can, to new places around this beautiful country; Patagonia, Iguazu Falls, Salta, San Antonio de Areco….

I love it all and I hope you will too!
